Transformice: Rodents in disguise.

Transformice is an awesome game, and has nothing to do with robots or transforming. But when looking for a fun online game, you don’t get better than this.

The game is simple. You, and a bunch of other people, are mice. Yes, it’s multiplayer. Your goal, get the cheese and get back to your mouse hole. The problem, their are many obstacles, like the cheese being too high to get to, or a pit that can’t be crossed. The solution, Their is a Shaman. The Shaman has god-loke powers, and can spawn many objects to help the mice in need.

Of course, the Shaman can kill everybody if he wants to. Plus, with 20+ mice, it can get hectic, and more often than not you’ll fight for the cheese rather than help each other. Which will lead to your death.

The levels are short, taking anywhere from 30s to 4ish minutes. This game is fun, but can be very challenging as well. Everyone should go play it. The games all about teamwork, but there’s always an idiot who gets in your way.

Oh, and you can Hats for your mice with the cheese you collect. Nice.

Japan’s Box cover game art is better than America’s.

For some odd reason, when a Japanese game gets released in the states, they often change the cover. I’m guessing most of the time it’s marketing purposes, but I don’t see it boosting sales that much. Plus, Japan normally has better box art anyways.

https://i0.wp.com/image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/3/958853_122445_front.jpg

Look at Atelier Rorona for the PS3. Honestly it’s not great art, but it shows what the game is and who it’s about. Kind of girly though, and little kidish, who is not the target audience. But look at the American art.

https://i0.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/81/Atelier-Rorona_2010_06-17-10_22.jpg_500.jpg

It’s worse. Like it normally is

https://i0.wp.com/image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/0/949770_106661_front.jpg

Arc Rise Fantasia is a generic group shot. The change must of helped, right?

https://i0.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/05/Arf_wii.jpg

No, it’s just another Generic group shot. Why the change?

Oh, and there’s plenty more.

https://i0.wp.com/image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/9/959019_122803_front.jpg

Why does Japan get Zelda on the cover, But we don’t?

https://i0.wp.com/image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/7/516587_50919_front.jpg

The Japan version looks so much better, the blue tint sucks, but the black one is great.

https://i0.wp.com/image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/8/589678_front.jpg

Their both good, but Japan still wins.

I’ve always seen Kirby as a more happy person.

They didn’t even bother with the American version. It’s bland, and it sucks. A lot.

For the most part, Japan has better box art on their video games. I don’t know why, but they do.

But not always….

Toy Story 3 Review

10/10

Oh, you want a review, Not a score, don’t you. Well in that case, I’ll give you one.

Toy Story 3 is an amazing movie, and one of the best I’ve seen. The movie takes place years after TS2, with Andy going on to College. Most of Andy’s toys are gone, but Andy’s favorites remain. Andy decides to put them in the attic, but they accidentally get donated to Sunnyside daycare, but Woody leaves to go back home.

At Sunnyside, Buzz and the others learn that Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear is really evil, and has a caste- like system going on. And the worst part, there’s no escape.

Woody gets picked up by Bonnie, a nice girl. Woody finds out what goes on at Sunnyside, and goes to rescue his friends. An epic escape scene commences, and is heavily influenced by Escape From Alcatraz. They almost escape, but the toys and Lotso fall into a garbage, and are brought to the dump.

I’m not going to spoil the rest of the plot, But it is epic. There’s an intense scene, and a very sad, yet happy ending. It brings closure to the franchise, and makes the movie perfect.

https://i0.wp.com/static.screenweek.it/2009/6/6/Toy-Story-3.png

The characters haven’t changed much from the previous films, but are all great. Woody and Buzz are still awesome, as are the rest. Mr. Potato head is still as funny as ever, and Rex is as clumsy, and Hamm as sarcastic. It’s a great end to these characters.

Overall, this movie is as close to perfect as it gets. I can’t find any faults, as it’s a thoroughly enjoyable movie. If you loved the first 2, this movie is a must see. If you didn’t love the first 2, you must hate movies.

Seriously, this is a movie all must see.

Top 10 3DS games I am looking foward too

10- Resident Evil Revelations.
I’m not a huge Resident Evil fan, but the games are good. Plus, being in 3D could make the game a lot scarier. It could be very fun, and most likely will be, as their have been no bad RE games yet.

9.Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

I love Street fighter. It’s fun, fast paced, and a great fighter. And now it’s going portable, in 3d. Sure its a remake, but it looks good.

8-Dead or Alive 3D
Dead or Alive is a fighting game that hasn’t been to big in recent years, but it seems it is making a comeback. While the older games weren’t amazing, they were good, and It piques my curiosity.

7- Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy
The AC games on the DS weren’t that good, because the DS wasn’t that powerful. But the 3DS is much more powerfull, so this should be a good game.

6.Animal Crossing
It’s animal crossing. Fun, but done 3 times already. Hopefully it brings something new, but it will still be fun.

5- Shin Megami Tensei

What SMG game is it? I don’t know? No one does. But SMT is always fun, so I want it.

4-Contra franchise
I love Contra. It’s hard, but fun. And now it’s in 3D.

3- Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D “The Naked Sample”
Now I can’t wait for this game at all. A Metal Gear game on Nintendo for the first time in a long while. Plus, the MGS series is great, and always fun.

2-Mario Kart
Mario Kart is fun. And every system needs it, and the 3DS is no exception.

1.Kid Icarus: Uprising
A retro game series being revived, and on a brand new system. And the trailer looks awesome, and I want this game more than any other at this time.

So that’s the list. The 3DS looks like a great system.

Nintendo at E3 today.

Nintendo Is hardcore again, after today’s E3 press conference, its easy to see why. They had surprise after surprise, and didn’t stop until they were done.

It started out with Zelda:Skyward Sword. The demo almost ruined everything. The controls didn’t work, and the graphics were bland. It was actually a really bad start to the conference. It’s not coming out till 2011 so they have time to fix it, and i’m sure they will, but It really was a bad showing. Very bad, really.

E3 day one, Microsoft, EA.

So Project Natal, the 360 motion controls, is now called Kinect, but that doesn’t make it any better. It still looks gimmicky, and not too fun. Or at least not that useful for too long. I also love the game names, including Kinectimals, Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride and Kinect Adventures. Nice and unique huh? However, Lucas Arts is making a Lightsaber game for it, which does look fun.

The big thing is the Xbox 360 light. It’s smaller, more memory, and looks cool. I actually like it a lot.

https://i0.wp.com/static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2010/06/E3%202010/Microsoft%20Press%20Conference/360_360--article_image.jpg

And it’s available now, so Xbox sales will pick up a lot I bet.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising Looks awesome. And I mean it looks like an amazing game, really, really amazing. I want it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops. Another Call of Duty, nothing new.

Gears of War 3 and Halo Reach were also shown, and look good enough, especially if your a fan. Not a bad conference, but not great.

EA also held a Press Conference, but I don’t care, at all. There now charging online for used games, which sucks. Ea just sucks.

New 3ds rumors, from good sources

Yes, their is much new info about the 3DS, and from a good source. Game developers. While just a mock up, this is what the 3DS is expected to look like.

https://i0.wp.com/cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/06/500x_3dsstick.jpg

Yes, the top screen looks much bigger than the bottom screen, which may or may not be bad. The bottom screen is still a touch screen, so that’s good. Also, I think the top screen is too big. It may not be bad, but we’ll see.

Also, it will have an analog stick, as seen in the picture. Its a lot smaller than ones on consoles, but it works. And having that and a D-pad is really good. It lets more ideas be able to be made, and lets games use one, the other, or both. And a touch screen. and 6 buttons that can be used.

I’m liking the 3ds more and more.

also, in case you care, http://www.thespeedgamers.com/ is streaming every Mario game live and raising money for charity in case you care. It’s really not that exciting, but it’s for a good cause. And it’s mario.

random qoute thusday.

Jack Sparrow: “Do us a favor… I know it’s difficult for you… but please, stay here, and try not to do anything… stupid.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies were great. They were action packed, full of adventure, and for the most part had good plots. While the 3rd movie was indeed overly complex, The pirates trilogy was great.

Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the coolest pirates ever. He’s neither good nor evil, and more of an anti-hero, and quite probably insane. But that’s what makes him great. In fact, everyone in the pirate movies are great. The good guys, the bad guys, the “I don’t know whose side I’m on at this particular moment.” Oh wait, there all in the last category.

https://i0.wp.com/www.hauntedbay.com/images/reviews/piratesposter.jpg

Still, all 3 Pirate’s movies were enjoyable, with many good quotes. And Jack Sparrow is definitely awesome.

Barbossa: So what now, Jack Sparrow? Are we to be two immortals locked in an epic battle until Judgment Day and trumpets sound?
Jack Sparrow: Or you could surrender.

Oh, and the fourth pirate movie? I’m pretending their not making it. Please just let me think this.

Catch-22 Paradox

The Catch-22 paradox was, in fact, coined by Joseph Heller in his novel Catch-22. Original.

The Catch-22 paradox is not a fun one to be in. It’s the paradox of when individuals finds themselves in need of something that can be had only by not being in need of it. In the book, John Yossarian is a Bomber pilot who wants to be grounded from flying, and wants to be found “unfit to fly.” The problem is, anyone who asks for an evaluation must be sane enough to fly a plane therefore not being “unfit.”

The “Catch 22” is that any pilot who wants to get out of combat can’t, even if he is insane. So while the title of the book may seem weird, it actually has a meaning. And one that describes a cool paradox as well.

What else would be a Catch-22 Paradox. Well, for example a genie in a bottle. If you need a genie in a bottle for some reason, say cover the state of Texas in quarters, you won’t find one. Genies are very odd creatures, and can only been found when you don’t need them and don’t know what to wish for.

Catch-22 Paradox is a great paradox, and aptly named. There’s a catch, a big one, in that you can’t have what you need or want, unless you don’t need or want it.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 review

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a great, great game. It takes what makes the first one awesome, and makes it even better. This is almost impossible, seeing as Galaxy 1 was such a great game.

This time, their is no overarching story. Peach is kidnapped, you must save her. Easy. And this time your hub is a giant planet, much easier to maneuver on. But what really makes this game great is the levels.

https://i0.wp.com/kusohappens.com/playing/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Super-Mario-Galaxy-2-E3-2009.jpg

The levels are ALL creative, detailed, and long. Most stages have a boss, which makes the game harder, as these bosses are not easy. Some are, but others will take you multiple tries. The enemies in this game are abundant, and all of your favorite enemies are back, Goomba’s, Thwomps, Bullet bills, everyone. Every level gets harder and cooler as the game advances. Ice levels, lava, desert, it has them all.

The challenge has been ramped up in this one, and to collect every star you need real skill. Their are many secret stars to find, and make the game even more challenging. Plus, Yoshi makes the game so much funner. Yoshi is just as awesome as always, and so fun to use. Also, the power ups are fun too. Fire-flowers return, as well as new additions cloud and rock suit. These new power ups are great, and really fun to use. Their creative and new.

The Controls are fine as well, and the ONLY MINOR complaint I have is some camera angles are sometimes bad. But that’s just nitpicking.

10/10

Great fun.
